CBSE Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship

The scheme is designed to reward girl students who are the only child of their parents and have excelled in their CBSE Class 10 Board examinations. It encourages them to pursue Class 11 and 12 education without financial constraints.

CBSE invites applications every year for two categories:

1. Fresh Application – For students who cleared Class 10 in the previous academic session and are entering Class 11.

2. Renewal Application – For students who already availed of the scholarship in Class 11 and wish to continue receiving it in Class 12.

Eligibility:

• The applicant must be a single girl child of her parents (as per CBSE rules, all girls born together are also treated as single girl child).

• Must have passed the Class 10 Board Exam from CBSE with at least 70% marks.

• Should be studying in a CBSE-affiliated school in Class 11 or 12.

• Must be an Indian national (NRI students are also eligible under special fee conditions).

• Parental/Family income must not exceed ₹8 lakh per annum (a notarized affidavit/self-declaration is required).
